Use this chart to identify your stool type and determine if your specimen meets the acceptable criteria for the clinical study.

Acceptable Specimen Criteria

For this clinical study, specimens must have a Bristol Stool Score of less than 6 (Types 1-5). Types 6 and 7 are not acceptable as they indicate diarrhea.

Important Notes

  • Do not collect if your stool is Type 6 or Type 7 (diarrhea). Wait until your stool returns to normal consistency.
  • Types 3 and 4 are considered ideal and indicate healthy digestion.
  • If you consistently have Type 1 or Type 2 stools, consider increasing fiber and water intake.
  • Contact your healthcare provider if you have persistent changes in bowel habits.

Acceptable (Types 1-5)

These stool types are suitable for specimen collection. Proceed with the collection process as instructed.

Not Acceptable (Types 6-7)

Do not collect specimens of these types. Wait until your stool consistency improves before collecting.
